\nMak\u00f3, Hungary-based avant-garde metal project Thy Catafalque, spearheaded by multi-instrumentalist Tam\u00e1s K\u00e1tai, issued ninth full-length studio album Naiv<\/em> on January 24th, 2020 through Season Of Mist.<\/p>\n

Naiv<\/em> can be streamed in its entirety below.<\/p>\n

Tam\u00e1s K\u00e1tai commented: \u201cThe title comes from the \u2018Na\u00efve Art\u2019 movement from the visual art field. Na\u00efve artists have no formal training and education and they lack the professional and conventional approach of trained artists and their art is recognized for their childlike nature and frankness. During making this album I realised this approach is in line with what I have always done in music and lyrics since the beginnings. Naiv<\/em> is the shortest and probably the least heavy album in the catalogue however there are 11 friends contributing on plenty of exciting instruments. We have the violin, viola, cello, oud, citera, trombone, saxophone, quena and fretless bass and of course Martina Horv\u00e1th and Gyula Vasv\u00e1ri again on vocals. The first song is kind of a traditional one, an easy, simple piece to start with.\u201d<\/p>\n

Naiv<\/em> was recorded, mixed and mastered in Edinburgh, Scotland and Budapest, Hungary during 2019.<\/p>\n

Cover artwork duties fell to Irene Sa\u00edz Guerrero.<\/p>\n

A music video was filmed for the track \u2018Nap\u00fat\u2019. Created by No Total Films and featuring guest vocals from Martina Veronika Horv\u00e1th, the clip can be viewed below.<\/p>\n

Speaking about the video, Thy Catafalque mastermind Tam\u00e1s K\u00e1tai said: \u201cThis is a video we shot in my home town, Mak\u00f3. Many of these locations are the places I grew up in and although nothing fancy is going on, it was nice to get back to where the songs came from. With this one, we close the lid on Naiv<\/em> and focus on the next album.\u201d<\/p>\n

Eighth studio record Geometria<\/em> was released in May 2018 via Season Of Mist.<\/p>\n
