OUTLAWS Release Lyric Video For New Track \u2018Rattlesnake Road\u2019<\/strong><\/span>

American southern rock band Outlaws have released an official lyric video for the track \u2018Rattlesnake Road\u2019, which can be viewed below.<\/p>\n

Outlaws issue 13th full-length studio album Dixie Highway<\/em> on February 28th, 2020 through Steamhammer \/ SPV.<\/p>\n

\u201cGoing back to the 70s, every song we wrote had to do with the challenges of this rock & roll lifestyle,\u201d commented vocalist Henry Paul. \u201cToday, we write about the things that collectively mean something to us. When you still have the reason and ability to do that, you can reiterate your position as a significant creative force. We dig deeper, write better, perform stronger. The Outlaws still have something to say that is as engaging as when we began, or maybe even more so than it ever was.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cI want the fans to see the band\u2019s growth, to recognize the quality of the music,\u201d added Paul. \u201cIt\u2019s focused on where we come from, where we\u2019re headed and how much fun we\u2019re still having on the ride.\u201d And from the state-of-the-art production to its throwback double-album gatefold vinyl, Dixie Highway remains a route whose legacy has a sound and spirit all its own. \u201cWe wrote and recorded this album to reinforce the notion that the Outlaws still matter,\u201d Henry says, \u201cand that Southern Rock will always matter. It\u2019s a message we\u2019re proud to bring into the 21st century.\u201d<\/p>\n

The album directly retraces Outlaws history with a re-recording of \u2018Heavenly Blues\u2019, which originally appeared on the band\u2019s 1977 album Hurry Sundown<\/em>. \u201cThe first three albums are the band\u2019s true heritage,\u201d stated Paul. \u201cAnd of all the songs I wrote for those records, this one had the most potential to revisit. I think our new arrangement and my more mature vocal has vastly improved it, and the guitar work is one of the highlights of the record.\u201d<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, for the song \u2018Windy City Blue\u2019, Paul unearthed a 1972 demo written by late bassist Frank O\u2019Keefe that has remained unrecorded until now. And like the Dixie Highway itself, the album\u2019s journey begins \u2013 and ends \u2013 in Illinois. \u201cFrank was from Chicago originally,\u201d Henry explained, \u201cand his lyrics are still applicable today. We rearranged it, and the highlights of that original demo came alive. In a band with four strong songwriters, Frank\u2019s contributions are conspicuously overlooked in Outlaws history. He was a sensational musician, an integral part of the group, and including his song on this record was the right thing to do. This is Frank O\u2019Keefe\u2019s curtain call.\u201d<\/p>\n
