KING DIAMOND Launch New Music Video For \u2018Masquerade Of Madness\u2019 Single<\/strong><\/span>

Danish \/ Swedish heavy metal band King Diamond have filmed a music video for the track \u2018Masquerade Of Madness\u2019. Created by David Brodsky and Allison Woest of MyGoodEye Visuals, the clip can be viewed below.<\/p>\n

\u2018Masquerade Of Madness\u2019 was issued as a digital single on November 8th, 2019 through Metal Blade Records. The label will release a 12-inch three-song vinyl EP version of the song on February 23rd, 2024. Masquerade Of Madness<\/em>\u00a0will feature two live tracks – \u2018Welcome Home (Live At Graspop)\u2019 and \u2018Arrival (Live At Graspop)\u2019 – and a collectable paper mask and be made available in four colour variants worldwide.<\/p>\n

Speaking about the song and video, frontman and band namesake King Diamond said: \u201c\u2018Masquerade Of Madness\u2019 was released digitally in 2019 before our North American tour. During rehearsals, we took one full day to film \u2018Masquerade Of Madness\u2019 with David Brodsky and Allison Woest. We spent all day and all night recording while performing the song with our full tour stage show choreography. After the tour, covid happened.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe video was all but forgotten as the world came to a standstill – we never saw a single frame from all the footage. Years later, as things began to pick up and writing began for both new Mercyful Fate and King Diamond records, we wondered, what happened to that video from four years ago? So we decided to check in with David Brodsky and a couple of weeks later, we had the first cut of the video.<\/p>\n

\u201cI was speechless! I had nothing to criticize and after just a few notes from Andy LaRocque [guitar], the video for \u2018Masquerade Of Madness\u2019 was finished! There\u2019s so much mood and black and white is used in a perfect way with Jodi\u2019s [Cachia, actress] performances. The visuals fit the music flawlessly and this is now among my favourite King Diamond videos along with \u2018Sleepless Nights\u2019 and \u2018Welcome Home\u2019 – and not to forget of course our double live DVD [Songs For The Dead<\/em>, 2019].<\/p>\n

\u201cThis new video and the release of \u2018Masquerade Of Madness\u2019 on 12-inch vinyl is our Halloween gift to the fans. We hope you enjoy this as much as we do! Happy Halloween, it\u2019s not just a dream!\u201d<\/p>\n
