METALLICA Forced To Postpone Upcoming South American Tour<\/strong><\/span>

San Francisco, California-based heavy metal band Metallica have once again been forced to postpone their upcoming South America tour in December due to the global coronavirus (Covid-19) pandemic. The shows had originally been scheduled to take place in April 2020, with support from Frankenmuth, Michigan-based rock group Greta Van Fleet.<\/p>\n

Regarding the latest postponement, Metallica have issued the following statement: \u201cIt is with a heavy heart that we\u2019re back in this space seven months later to announce that our South American tour dates scheduled for December of this year are once again being postponed due to the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic. We\u2019re working closely with our local promoter partners to re-schedule these shows for hopefully in late 2021 and will have an update for you soon.<\/p>\n

\u201cHang on to your tickets as they will be honoured for the new dates; where applicable, refund information [can be found here<\/a>] and we encourage you to visit the website or location where you purchased your tickets for additional updates.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe wish you, your families, and loved ones good health during these trying times. We cannot wait to spend time in person with our extended Metallica family when it\u2019s safe to all be together again!\u201d<\/p>\n

The December dates were as follows:<\/p>\n

Dec. 04 – Buenos Aires, Argentina, Hip\u00f3dromo de San Isidro
\nDec. 07 – Santiago, Chile, Estadio Nacional
\nDec. 14 – Porto Alegre, Brazil, Estacionamento da Fiergs
\nDec. 16 – Curitiba, Brazil, Est\u00e1dio Couto Pereira
\nDec. 18 – S\u00e3o Paulo, Brazil, Est\u00e1dio do Morumbi
\nDec. 20 – Belo Horizonte, Brazil, Est\u00e1dio do Mineir\u00e3o<\/p>\n

The tour was scheduled in support of tenth Metallica studio album Hardwired…To Self-Destruct<\/em>, issued<\/a> in November 2016 through their own Blackened Recordings label.<\/p>\n
