BLOODY HAMMERS Release Fifth Studio Album \u2018The Summoning\u2019<\/strong><\/span>

Transylvania County, North Carolina-based gothic heavy psych rock group Bloody Hammers issued fifth full-length studio album The Summoning<\/em> on June 28th, 2019 through Napalm Records.<\/p>\n

The Summoning<\/em> pays homage to horror movies such as Let Sleeping Corpses Lie<\/em> (1974) and Now The Screaming Starts<\/em> (1973).<\/p>\n

Vocalist, guitarist and bassist Anders Manga commented: \u201cWhen I think about my earliest influences, the horror film genre is just as important as musical influences and they\u2019re all fuzed together in my brain from childhood. When I was a kid, there was a show called Shock Theatre<\/em> that aired late at night on our local WGHP<\/em> network in the early 80s. They played Dr. Phibes Rises Again<\/em> (1972), Children Shouldn\u2019t Play With Dead Things<\/em> (1972) and weirdness like that. Around the same time slot, over on channel 61, there was a music video show that played Ozzy, Iron Maiden, Alice Cooper and all those artists our satanic panicked local churches and teachers were freaking out about… and forbidding. <\/p>\n

\u201cI tried to put myself back in that time when I wrote The Summoning<\/em>. In my mind, it\u2019s a tribute musically and lyrically to those magical macabre memories. Back when paranoid adults thought kids were brainwashed and likely worshiping Satan in the woods\u2026 good times!\u201d<\/p>\n
