Halden, Norway-based one-man black metal project Mork, helmed by Thomas Eriksen, issued fourth full-length studio album Det Svarte Juv<\/em> on April 19th, 2019 through Peaceville Records.<\/p>\n

Thomas Eriksen commented: \u201cThe album has been part of a strange and dark period of my life. The darkest period of my life, infact. Since early 2017 there has been a tornado of tragedy and misery consuming my existence. Roughly throughout the whole process of making this album. Det Svarte Juv<\/em> is filled with sadness, hate, anger, pain and even strength and self-belief. There are no guests appearing on this album, it\u2019s extracted purely from my own being and soul without any inflictions from outside expectations. It is in my opinion; Mork at its finest.\u201d <\/p>\n

He continued to say that \u201cthe music of Det Svarte Juv<\/em> is as previous Mork releases, varied. There\u2019s classic blast-beat riffs, black\u2019n\u2019roll, doom and melancholic melodies. It\u2019s pure and true in that it is made without any outside opinions or in regard to any expectations.\u201d<\/p>\n

Cover artwork duties fell to David Thi\u00e9rr\u00e9e. \u201cI communicated my vision and feelings to David and he absolutely nailed it!,\u201d Eriksen stated. \u201cThe huge overwhelming deep black abyss and the weakling that\u2019s being dragged towards the edge. The final step before the leap into endless darkness.\u201d<\/p>\n

A music video was filmed for the track \u2018I Flammens Favn\u2019. Shot in Vannvogna Kulturhus in Halden by John Fredrik Heramb and Gray Gull Productions, the clip can be viewed below.<\/p>\n

Speaking about the song and video, mainman Thomas Eriksen said: \u201cThis scorching piece is, as the title suggest, a rough translation of \u2018In The Embrace Of The Flame\u2019. It has to be one of, or even, the most aggressive track from our new album. The band is run as a one-man project creatively, but the whole band decided on making a video for this song. We agreed that it wouldn\u2019t have a narrative but, instead, showcase each band member in action individually. I think this really helped to gain the intimate but intense feel we envisaged.\u201d <\/p>\n

Third studio record Eremittens Dal<\/em> was released<\/a> in September 2017 via Peaceville.<\/p>\n
