Las Vegas, Nevada-based metal group Five Finger Death Punch have parted ways with drummer and founding member Jeremy Spencer, revealing this development on December 18th, 2018.<\/p>\n

Jeremy Spencer issued the following statement: \u201cIt\u2019s with mixed emotion that I share with you the following news: I regret that I\u2019ve decided to step down as the drummer of Five Finger Death Punch. This decision has been weighing on me for months. Now the time has finally come. I\u2019ve been playing drums since I was six years old. After years of the physicality leading to surgeries, I feel it\u2019s best to step down.<\/p>\n

\u201cAs with professional athletes, when the body and mental state don\u2019t achieve the standard required to meet the rigorous demands necessary to perform at a high level, the choice is clear. I feel fortunate that my body has provided me with several decades of doing what I love: playing double-bass and shredding the drums. However, the rigorous physical wear and tear has worn down my body to the point where I feel I can no longer deliver a performance you great fans deserve and one that brings me satisfaction and joy. In addition, I feel the band deserves to get someone with fresh fire and energy \u2014 capable of delivering Death Punch music the way fans deserve. I\u2019m confident they will! Like you, I will be cheering on the band to continue making great music as they tour the world and bring exciting shows to all our cherished fans.<\/p>\n

\u201cPersonally, I have a number of future projects I\u2019m excited about \u2014 all of which require that I be physically able to move fluidly and without pain. I hope you\u2019ll continue to be part of the next chapter of my life.<\/p>\n

Five Finger Death Punch\u2019s line-up is as follows;<\/p>\n

Ivan Moody (lead vocals)
\nJason Hook (lead guitar and backing vocals)
\nZolt\u00e1n B\u00e1thory (rhythm guitar)
\nChris Kael (bass and backing vocals)<\/p>\n

Five Finger Death Punch was co-founded in 2005 by Jeremy Spencer alongside rhythm guitarist Zoltan Bathory, Spencer\u2019s tenure spanning across a 13-year period. Spencer stepped behind the drumkit for all of the band\u2019s full-length albums to date, namely; The Way Of The Fist<\/em> (2007), War Is The Answer<\/em> (2009), American Capitalist<\/em> (2011), The Wrong Side Of Heaven And The Righteous Side Of Hell, Volume 1<\/em> and Volume 2<\/em> (both 2013), Got Your Six<\/em> (2015) and And Justice For None<\/em> (2018).<\/p>\n

Spencer sat out the autumn leg of the group\u2019s 2018 North American co-headlining tour with Breaking Benjamin, undergoing a second back surgery and needing a significant amount of time to recover. For that tour, Five Finger Death Punch was joined by drummer Charlie Engen, who played his first show on November 6th in Wichita, Kansas.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
