New Jersey-based death metal group Cognitive issued third full-length studio album Matricide<\/em> on October 26th, 2018 through Unique Leader Records.<\/p>\n

The outing can be streamed in its entirety via YouTube below.<\/p>\n

Guitarist Rob Wharton commented: \u201cThe band really took a lot of time with making sure this album was different than our last album Deformity<\/em>. We were extremely happy with the way that album was received, but wanted to try and offer something different this time around.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis album pushed all of us on our instruments, but while being hard to play, we wanted to make sure the songs were fun and catchy. We incorporated a ton of new things into this album, while still making sure it sounded like us. We wanted to be more in your face, while still having some abstract passages in the songs. A lot went into this album and we think it\u2019s our best material yet, and we\u2019re very excited for everyone to hear it.\u201d<\/p>\n

Matricide<\/em> was recorded by AJ Viana at Sylar Sound Studios in Hulmeville, Pennsylvania. Mixing and mastering was handled by Alan Douches at West West Side Music in New Windsor, New York. Cover artwork duties fell to Pedro Sena.<\/p>\n

Directed by Eric DiCarlo of Square Up Studios, a music video was filmed for the track \u2018Fragmented Perception\u2019. In addition, an official lyric video was created for the song \u2018Omnicide\u2019. Both clips can be viewed below.<\/p>\n

Second studio record Deformity<\/em> was released in October 2016 via Unique Leader Records.<\/p>\n
