Richmond, Virginia-based metal band Lamb Of God issued covers album Legion: XX<\/em> under previous moniker Burn The Priest on May 18th, 2018 through Nuclear Blast Records in Europe, and via Epic Records in North America.<\/p>\n

Guitarist Mark Morton commented: \u201cOur inauspicious beginnings somehow grew into something none of us had ever even imagined possible, let alone aspired to, however, this is the story of Burn The Priest. The songs we chose to cover on this album reflect that story. They are touchstones from that point in time. The inspiration we gleaned from these bands and these songs carries through our work and our creative pursuits, even to this day. Many thanks to these bands for lighting our fire and endless gratitude to our fans around the world for keeping it lit.\u201d<\/p>\n

Legion: XX<\/em>\u2019s title marked the forthcoming 20th anniversary of April 1999 debut Burn The Priest<\/em>; released through Legion Records, Burn The Priest revised their name to Lamb Of God shortly afterwards. Legion: XX<\/em> was produced by Josh Wilbur.<\/p>\n

Directed by Zev Deans, a music video was filmed for a cover rendition of the Big Black track \u2018Kerosene\u2019. <\/p>\n

\u201cBig Black is a very important band to me,\u201d said vocalist Randy Blythe. \u201cWhen I was 12 and first listening to punk rock, I thought all punk came from England – but then through skating, I got into Black Flag and Bad Brains. I soon discovered this super-smart American punk rock – very caustic, and deeply sardonic about the murky side of the human experience. That got me into Steve Albini\u2019s future bands Shellac and Rapeman – and all the noisy smart punk rock on labels like AmRep and Touch & Go. \u2018Kerosene\u2019 was one of their biggest songs, if they even had one. It speaks to small-town boredom.\u201d<\/p>\n

Seventh studio record VII: Sturm Und Drang<\/em> (under the Lamb Of God name) was released<\/a> in July 2015 in Europe via Nuclear Blast Entertainment. North American issue was handled by Epic.<\/p>\n
