WITHERFALL Release Second Studio Album \u2018A Prelude To Sorrow\u2019<\/strong><\/span>

Los Angeles, California-based progressive metal band Witherfall issued second full-length studio album A Prelude To Sorrow<\/em> on November 2nd, 2018 through Century Media Records.<\/p>\n

The band commented: \u201cA Prelude To Sorrow<\/em> is a concept record, though not in the sense that most people have come to know the form. Ours is not a story where each song acts as a chapter. The inspiration lays in the supremely dark reality that was the passing of our drummer and one of our best friends Adam Sagan.<\/p>\n

\u201cThese songs are raw emotional reflections, composed in the witching hours under the influence of wine and sorrow, while watching and helping our friend fight and ultimately lose his battle with Lymphoma. Nocturnes And Requiems<\/em> was dedicated to Adam after the fact. A Prelude To Sorrow<\/em> is written specifically about his and our personal tragedy.<\/p>\n

\u201cLike Nocturnes And Requiems<\/em>, the songs have been arranged to still have the peaks and valleys that any great record should. With Prelude…<\/em> these peaks just might be a little steeper and the valleys might be a little deeper, alternating between violence and beauty. The titles initials are an acronym for \u2018Adam Paul Sagan\u2019. He came up with Nocturnes And Requiems<\/em>, so we suppose it is kind of fitting that he also inspired this title. Hope he doesn\u2019t come knocking on our door for royalties. We hope that this will be a fitting requiem for our friend and talented musician.\u201d<\/p>\n

Formerly of Into Eternity and Circle II Circle, drummer Adam Sagan succumbed to lymphoma on December 7th, 2016 at the age of 36.<\/p>\n

A Prelude To Sorrow<\/em> was tracked by JJ Crews at Boogie Tracks Recording Studio in Panama City, Florida. Mixing and mastering was handled by Chris \u201cZeuss\u201d Harris.<\/p>\n

In addition, official lyric videos were released for the songs \u2018Shadows\u2019, \u2018Vintage\u2019, \u2018Maridian\u2019s Visitation\u2019, \u2018Communion Of The Wicked\u2019 and \u2018We Are Nothing\u2019. Debut studio record Nocturnes And Requiems<\/em> was independently released in February 2017.<\/p>\n
