AMARANTHE Release Fifth Studio Album \u2018Helix\u2019<\/strong><\/span>

Gothenburg, Sweden-based melodic metal group Amaranthe issued fifth full-length studio album Helix<\/em> on October 19th, 2018 through Spinefarm Records.<\/p>\n

Guitarist Olof M\u00f6rck commented: \u201cThe Helix<\/em> album is a statement, a declaration and an assertion that we are here to stay, and that the songwriting and musicianship has been honed and maximized to the highest level yet on an Amaranthe record. The process of composing this album with Elize [Ryd, vocals] was as inspiring as it was smooth, and from a composer\u2019s and arranger\u2019s perspective, a dream collaboration. The time is nigh, the die is cast, and all the stars are right: the Helix will steamroll across the globe, and in its wake, the touring machine that is Amaranthe will conquer all!\u201d<\/p>\n

Vocalist and composer Elize Ryd added: \u201cHelix<\/em> describes the concept of how the past forms us and how life makes us become. No excuses, no regrets. We express the challenges and the uplifting moments in time, and all that in between with the sounds that we love. We want to dedicate this album to all the fighters and friends out there.\u201d<\/p>\n

The outing was recorded at Hansen Studios in Ribe, Denmark with producer Jacob Hansen.<\/p>\n

Helix<\/em> marks the recording debut of Dynazty frontman Nils Molin, whose official entry into the ranks was confirmed<\/a> in July 2017 as a replacement for Jake E.. Amaranthe initially recruited Molin to stand in for three Swedish concerts during March of that year, the singer\u2019s status evolving to a fully fledged member. Previous to that, Smash Into Pieces frontman Chris Adam Hedman S\u00f6rbye acted as a stand-in for some 2016 and early 2017 shows.<\/p>\n

Directed by Patric Ulleaus, music videos were filmed for the title track and the songs \u2018365\u2019, \u2018Countdown\u2019 and \u2018GG6\u2019. In addition, an official lyric video was created for the track \u2018Inferno\u2019. All five clips can be viewed below.<\/p>\n

Fourth studio record Maximalism<\/em> was released<\/a> in October 2016 via Spinefarm.<\/p>\n
