Los Angeles, California-based alternative metal group Tool have recruited Joe Barresi to helm recording sessions for their fifth full-length studio album, having previously engineered and mixed preceding effort 10,000 Days<\/em>.<\/p>\n

Guitarist Adam Jones revealed in January that music for the outing had been completed, later confirming that recording sessions would commence in March. Meanwhile, frontman Maynard James Keenan stated that he had finished writing the \u201cwords and melodies\u201d to all but one track for the new platter.<\/p>\n

A title and release date are yet to be determined, although drummer Danny Carey has stated in several interviews that the disc would be released in 2018.<\/p>\n

Tool\u2019s line-up is as follows;<\/p>\n

Fourth studio record 10,000 Days<\/em> was released in May 2006 via Tool Dissectional and Volcano Entertainment.<\/p>\n
