Austin, Texas-based psychedelic metal group From Beyond issue debut full-length studio album The Band From Beyond<\/em> on May 11th, 2018 through Candlelight Records.<\/p>\n

The album has been made available for streaming in its entirety via SoundCloud and can be accessed below.<\/p>\n

The Band From Beyond<\/em> was inspired by psychedelic horror, fusing movie elements from the late 60s and early 70s. \u201cFilms like Simon, King Of The Witches<\/em> (1971), Psychomania<\/em> (1973), and the work of Coffin Joe come to mind,\u201d frontman Rob McCarthy explains. \u201cAt the same time, I love the scores for Escape From New York<\/em> (1981) and Halloween<\/em> (1978). I got really into that sparse and minimal approach to synthesis. I wanted to bring those elements to music inspired by Queens Of The Stone Age, Sleep, and the writing of H.P. Lovecraft.\u201d<\/p>\n

The outing was tracked over the course of seven days at an Austin, Texas-based studio, with The Sword bassist Bryan Richie handling production.<\/p>\n
