American Christian heavy metal group Stryper issued ninth full-length studio album proper God Damn Evil<\/em><\/a> on April 20th, 2018 through Frontiers Music Srl.<\/p>\n

Vocalist Michael Sweet commented: \u201cWe thought long and hard about this title. It was actually considered quite a few years ago and it just didn\u2019t feel like the right time. Now, with all the evil in the world that we see around us on a daily basis, it made perfect sense. It\u2019s a very bold statement yet a prayer asking God to damn \/ condemn evil. Nothing more, nothing less.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe all see and hear the darkness that surrounds us in our society but with faith and love, we\u2019ll always have hope. That\u2019s what Stryper is all about – powerful music and a message that builds foundations, not walls. We couldn\u2019t be more excited about God Damn Evil<\/em> as it showcases our undying love for what we do and why we do it.\u201d<\/p>\n

The outing was recorded at SpiritHouse Recording Studios in Northampton, Massachusetts, with bass tracks being laid down by John O’Boyle. Stryper confirmed on September 7th, 2017 that they had fired bassist Tim Gaines, later revealing<\/a> on October 30th of that year they had recruited former Firehouse bass player Perry Richardson. However, Richardson was unable to play on the album due to scheduling conflicts.<\/p>\n

Contributing guest vocals on the track \u2018Take It To The Cross\u2019 is Act Of Defiance frontman Matt Blanchard.<\/p>\n
