CYNIC Issue Drum Playthrough Video For \u2018Humanoid\u2019 Track<\/strong><\/span>

\nAmerican progressive metal band Cynic have released an official drum playthrough video for latest single \u2018Humanoid\u2019. Featuring drummer Matt Lynch, the clip can be viewed below.<\/p>\n

Matt Lynch commented: \u201cFor me, \u2018Humanoid\u2019 is about branching out to new territory and embracing the process that follows. It\u2019s the excitement of being given a new puzzle and figuring out where all the pieces fit, all the while improving and evolving.\u201d<\/p>\n

Cynic issued digital download single \u2018Humanoid\u2019 on January 15th, 2018 through Season Of Mist. The song can be streamed below.<\/p>\n

Guitarist Paul Masvidal added: \u201c\u2018Humanoid\u2019 is a portrait of contrasts, like those between struggle and stillness, or the immediate against the limitless. Our Stargate is planet Earth \u2014 consciousness, the transmitter. We, sentient creatures of light, are alive now \u2014 on a sphere, floating in a galaxy fixed amidst the infinite. It\u2019s quite miraculous to be aware of this, and it invokes a sense of urgency and empowerment that is unlike anything else.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u2018Humanoid\u2019 was recorded by Paul Masvidal and longtime Cynic bassist Sean Malone. The song also marks the debut of the band\u2019s new drummer Matt Lynch.<\/p>\n

For the mixing of \u2018Humanoid\u2019, Cynic partnered with engineer Adam \u201cNolly\u201d Getgood. Sean Malone said: \u201cNolly\u2019s approach is equal parts expertise and intuition. Working with him was quick, clear, but most of all, musical.\u201d<\/p>\n

The artwork for \u2018Humanoid\u2019 features a detail from the painting \u2018Ayahuasca Dream\u2019 by Robert Venosa, Cynic\u2019s longtime collaborator and artist who sadly passed away on August 9th, 2011.<\/p>\n
