SOULFLY Release 11th Studio Album \u2018Ritual\u2019<\/strong><\/span>

Phoenix, Arizona-based metal band Soulfly issued 11th full-length studio album Ritual<\/em> on October 19th, 2018 through Nuclear Blast Entertainment.<\/p>\n

Ritual<\/em> was recorded with producer Josh Wilbur who also worked with Soulfly mainman Max Cavalera on his Killer Be Killed project.<\/p>\n

Cover artwork was painted by artist Eliran Kantor. Additional booklet art was handled by Marcelo Vasco Arts, who was also responsible for the package design.<\/p>\n

Frontman Max Cavalera commented: \u201cI am really stoked to be working again with two of my favourite artists, Eliran Kantor and Marcelo Vasco! The Ritual artwork is very mystic and captures the vibe of the album perfectly. For this one, we really tried to retain the groove of early Soulfly as well as my love for the heavy, fast stuff I\u2019m into: like death and black metal and some hardcore.<\/p>\n

\u201cWorking with Josh Wilbur for Soulfly this time around has been amazing. He\u2019s a huge fan and added a lot to the record. I would fight for the fast songs and he would always push me to add more groove. I think in the end we created a really cool mix of songs that covers a lot of ground in my career. Let the Ritual begin!\u201d<\/p>\n

Producer Josh Wilbur added: \u201cBefore I had ever recorded a record, in my formidable years, Max released the holy trinity that was (at least to me) Chaos A.D.<\/em> [Sepultura, 1993], Roots<\/em> [Sepultura, 1996], and Soulfly<\/em> [1998]. I wanted to make a record that captured what I loved about those when I was growing up! Those records inspired me and introduced me to heavy metal.<\/p>\n

\u201cFast forward to now and I was given the opportunity to make the record I wanted as an fan! So I set up some mics, recorded some riffs, we banged on some galvanized metal, roto toms, djembes, and anything else we could get, then I told Max to \u2018BRING DA SHIT!\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n

Ritual<\/em> features multiple guests including Randy Blythe (Lamb Of God) and Ross Dolan (Immolation).<\/p>\n

An official 360\u00b0 video was released for the title track, while a visualiser video was issued for the song \u2018Dead Behind The Eyes\u2019. In addition, an official lyric video was created for the track \u2018Under Rapture\u2019. All three clips can be viewed below.<\/p>\n

Tenth studio record Archangel<\/em> was released<\/a> in August 2015.<\/p>\n
