London, England-based extreme metal group Akercocke have released an official lyric video for the track \u2018Insentience\u2019, which can be viewed below.<\/p>\n

Frontman Jason Mendonca commented: \u201c\u2018Insentience\u2019 was a weird addition to Renaissance In Extremis<\/em>. Most of the material for the album, Paul and I had written long, long ago. The music for \u2018Insentience\u2019 came to me while I was asleep. I woke up during the night on a number of occasions with riffs in my head. I then murmured the riffs into my cell phone (so as not to wake my neighbours) and went back to sleep. Hence the working title of the song was \u2018Murmur\u2019.<\/p>\n

\u201cWhen I transcribed these riffs from the phone to the guitar, I realised that they worked together and \u2018Insentience\u2019 was born. I guess the song wrote itself really.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe lyrical content is particularly personal. The lyrics obliquely reference my past, the power of the amygdala, and the potential to return from the bleakest of places. It\u2019s a song of hope really.\u201d<\/p>\n

Akercocke issued sixth full-length studio album Renaissance In Extremis<\/em> on August 25th, 2017 through Peaceville Records.<\/p>\n

Mixing was handled by Neil Kernon, with mastering overseen by Alan Douches at West West Side Music in New Windsor, New York.<\/p>\n
