PARADISE LOST Release 15th Studio Album \u2018Medusa\u2019<\/strong><\/span>

West Yorkshire-based gothic metal band Paradise Lost issued 15th full-length studio album Medusa<\/em> on September 1st, 2017 through Nuclear Blast Records.<\/p>\n

Medusa<\/em> was recorded at Orgone Studios in Woburn, England with producer Jaime Gomez Arellano.<\/p>\n

The album cover artwork was created by Branca Studio and shows the infamous Gorgone Medusa from Greek mythology, carrying venomous snakes as hair and turning anyone into stone who would dare to look into her eyes.<\/p>\n

Lead guitarist Greg Mackintosh commented: \u201cWhilst we were writing Medusa<\/em> and realising what the new songs were becoming, we had to find an artist to reflect this direction. After searching around for a while, I found Branca Studios. They have a keen eye for design and their modern take on retro artwork really fit the bill. What they have come up with is a blending of colourful yet retro styling, whilst maintaining the classic Paradise Lost feel.\u201d<\/p>\n

Vocalist Nick Holmes added: \u201cI was intrigued about a greater meaning and thinking more along the lines of what Medusa represents metaphorically. Medusa as a title works in many ways. From a Nihilist perspective, when I read the description of Medusa on the Wikipedia page: \u2018Attempts to avoid looking into Medusa\u2019s eyes represents avoiding the ostensibly depressing reality that the universe is meaningless\u2019. The title was pretty much in the bag!\u201d<\/p>\n

Directed by Ash Pears (AshTV Music Video), a music video was filmed for the track \u2018Blood & Chaos\u2019. In addition, official lyric videos were created for the songs \u2018The Longest Winter\u2019 and \u2018Until The Grave\u2019. All three clips can be viewed below.<\/p>\n

Fourteenth studio record The Plague Within<\/em> was released<\/a> in June 2015 via Century Media Records.<\/p>\n
