USURPRESS Release Third Studio Album \u2018The Regal Tribe\u2019<\/strong><\/span>

Uppsala, Sweden-based death \/ sludge metal band Usurpress issued third full-length studio album The Regal Tribe<\/em> on September 23rd, 2016 through Agonia Records.<\/p>\n

The outing has been made available for streaming in its entirety through YouTube and can be accessed below.<\/p>\n

Vocalist Stefan Pettersson commented: \u201cWe decided early on to discard the traditional way of songwriting \/ arranging and compose The Regal Tribe<\/em> one piece at the time, starting with the first riff in the first song and ending with the last riff in the tenth song. That way we hoped to avoid the album becoming repetitive and stale and instead more fluent and powerful. Listening back to the finished album, I\u2019m convinced we did the right thing. This is the album we have always sought to do.<\/p>\n

\u201cAlthough we are very proud of all our previous works, we never look back. Dwelling on the past does not interest us at all. We started to write The Regal Tribe<\/em> a couple of weeks after Ordained<\/em> was released and we started to draw up the blueprints for our next album before we started to record The Regal Tribe<\/em>. This is how we do things, we don\u2019t wait for inspiration, we get inspiration from creating.\u201d<\/p>\n

The Regal Tribe<\/em> was recorded during September and October 2016, and produced by Lawrence Mackrory. Cover artwork duties fell to Dutch artist Marald van Haasteren.<\/p>\n

Following the recording of the album, original drummer and co-founder Calle L\u00f6nnberg left the band and was replaced by Mathias \u201cMatte\u201d Modin (Firespawn \/ ex-Dark Funeral \/ ex-Defleshed). <\/p>\n
