Jag Panzer resist the total thrash approach and opt for the more complex Iron Maiden / Judas Priest like class metal with twin-cranking guitars and wide ranging powerhouse vocals in the Bruce Dickinson mould.

Highlights of the nine tracks are ‘Harder Than Steel’, ‘Cardiac Arrest’, ‘Reign Of The Tyrants’ and the high adrenaline rocker, ‘Generally Hostile’. However, the best is saved for last in the shape of ‘The Crucifix’, a metallic epic that gradually builds up from its Angel choir-type intro to a menacing doom laden assault on the eardrums.

There are a couple of low points; the opening tracks ‘Licensed To Kill’ and ‘Warfare’ are not as convincing as they should be. But on the whole, Ample Destruction succeeds in living up to its name and as a result the next Jag Panzer album should be nothing short of a classic.

Bernard Doe

Review taken from Metal Forces, Issue 4 (1984)

JAG PANZERAmple Destruction Iron Works (1984)Rating: 8/10 Having dealt the initial blow with their promising debut EP last year, Colorado’s Jag Panzer return for the kill with this full-length album.
