Helloween were the pick of the bands that appeared on last year\u2019s Death Metal<\/em> compilation album, and they\u2019ve certainly come up with the goods on their debut mini-LP.<\/p>\n

The twin lead guitar attack of Kai Hansen and Michael Weikath gives the band a slight Iron Maiden-ish feel, especially on \u2018Starlight\u2019 and \u2018Murderer\u2019, but the band\u2019s overall intense frenzied approach results in Helloween being one of Germany\u2019s most exciting new bands.<\/p>\n

\u2018Warrior\u2019 is power metal at its best, while the slow intro to \u2018Cry For Freedom\u2019 soon makes way for an orgy of superb thrash. However, the best track has to be the totally brilliant \u2018Victim Of Fate\u2019 where the instrumentation is faultless.<\/p>\n

So an excellent debut, and all we want now is the full-length album.<\/p>\n
