Formed at the beginning of 1984, At War are a power metal trio from the outskirts of Virginia Beach who consist of Paul Arnold on bass and vocals, Shawn Helsel on guitar and Dave Stone on drums.<\/p>\n

Showing distinctive Venom influences, the band\u2019s first demo contains two numbers – \u2018Rapechase\u2019 and \u2018Eat Lead\u2019 – which both contain frantic riffing and blistering soloing topped with a growling vocal performance; all good stuff.<\/p>\n

The pace of \u2018Rapechase\u2019 is so fast that the drumming loses its way slightly, but is more than adequate on the title track, \u2018Eat Lead\u2019.<\/p>\n

At War will soon be featured on the Speed Metal<\/em> compilation album that\u2019s being put out by New Renaissance Records.<\/p>\n
