DRAGONLORD Unveil Music Video For New Song \u2018Northlanders\u2019<\/strong><\/span>

\nSan Francisco, California-based black metal group Dragonlord \u2013 featuring Testament guitarist Eric Peterson \u2013 have released a music video for the track \u2018Northlanders\u2019. Edited by Jan Yrlund and featuring hand-drawn art depicting the lyrical content of the track by Christian Sloan Hall, the clip can be viewed below.<\/p>\n

Eric Peterson commented: \u201cThis is one of the first songs I wrote for the Dominion<\/em> album, way back when the History Channel<\/em><\/em> first put out Vikings<\/em>, which it’s clearly inspired by. While I wish I had a Vikings<\/em>-level budget for this music video, I actually love how this video came out because it encompasses what black metal is all about \u2014 grit and straightforward rawness!\u201d<\/p>\n

Dragonlord issue third full-length studio album Dominion<\/em> on September 21st, 2018 through Spinefarm Records.<\/p>\n

Dominion<\/em> was recorded at Trident Studios near Peterson\u2019s northern California home, taking roughly four years to complete, between Testament tours and albums. Peterson produced Dominion<\/em> with assistance from engineer and mixer Juan Urteaga. Mastering was handled by Jens Bogren at Fascination Street Studios in \u00d6rebro, Sweden.<\/p>\n

Dominion<\/em> explores themes of darkness owning and influencing these times we now live in, and things that have come to pass. It also delves into other eras, real and imagined. \u2019The Northlanders\u2019 is about brutal 11th century Northmen for example, while \u2019The Discord Of Melkor\u2019 is Peterson\u2019s take on J.R.R. Tolkien\u2019s The Silmarillion<\/em>. A duet with Celtic vocalist Leah, \u2019Love Of The Damned\u2019 is an abstract piece which explores a love story with the Devil.<\/p>\n
