Reading, Pennsylvania-based technical death metal group Rivers Of Nihil issued second full-length studio album Monarchy<\/em> on August 21st, 2015 through Metal Blade Records.<\/p>\n

The outing was cut at Atrium Audio in Lancaster, Pennsylvania with producers Carson Slovak and Grant McFarland. <\/p>\n

Guitarist Brody Uttley cited recent personal hardships as a major factor in the creative process for Monarchy<\/em>: \u201cI lost a few close friends. The loss of these people had a profound influence on the creation of the music for this record. I was having strong feelings of rage, sadness, hope, and frustration as a result. The songs turned out heavier, darker, sadder, and more frightening than I had ever hoped that they would.\u201d<\/p>\n

In its first week of release, Monarchy<\/em> charted on the following Billboard charts; Heatseeker (#17), Hard Music Albums (#32), and Independent Albums (#56).<\/p>\n

A music video was filmed for the song \u2018Sand Baptism\u2019 and a live video was released for the title track. Both clips can be viewed below. In addition, Rivers Of Nihil recorded a Toontrack version of the composition \u2018Ancestral, I\u2019.<\/p>\n

Debut studio record The Conscious Seed Of Light<\/em> was released in October 2013.<\/p>\n
