Los Angeles, California-based thrash metal group Megadeth issued 15th full-length studio album Dystopia<\/em> on January 22nd, 2016 through Universal Music \/ Tradecraft \/ T-Boy Records. A limited-edition vinyl picture disc version was released on April 8th.<\/p>\n

The outing was recorded at Lattitude Studio South in Leiper\u2019s Fork, Tennessee. Handling production was Megadeth mainman Dave Mustaine and Toby Wright, while mixing duties fell to Josh Wilbur. In addition to those included on the final track listing, Megadeth recorded a cover version of the Budgie track \u2018Melt The Ice Away\u2019.<\/p>\n

On March 29th, 2015, it was confirmed<\/a> that the ensemble had recruited Chris Adler \u2013 of Richmond, Virginia-based metal ensemble Lamb Of God \u2013 to step behind the drumkit for recording sessions. The permanent appointment of Angra guitarist Kiko Loureiro was confirmed<\/a> on April 2nd of that year.<\/p>\n

\u2018The Threat Is Real\u2019 underwent twelve-inch vinyl release on November 27th as part of 2015\u2019s Record Store Day Black Friday bonanza. The B-side featured the band\u2019s rendition of the Fear song \u2018Foreign Policy\u2019. <\/p>\n

In its first week of release, Dystopia<\/em> charted at position three on The Billboard 200, having shifted 49,000 equivalent album units in the United States.<\/p>\n

Music videos were filmed for the tracks \u2018Post American World\u2019, \u2018Conquer Or Die\u2019 and \u2018Lying In State\u2019. In addition, animated music videos were created for the title track and the song \u2018The Threat Is Real\u2019. All five clips can be viewed below.<\/p>\n

Fourteenth studio record Super Collider<\/em><\/a> was released in June 2013.<\/p>\n
