Rest in peace, my brother.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Toto guitarist Steve Lukather shared the following words through Facebook, meanwhile: \u201cMy brother Mike Porcaro is now now at peace. I will miss him more than I could ever put into words. My deepest love to the family.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Porcaro was diagnosed with motor neurone disease in 2010; a neurological condition, the disease is referred to in North America as ALS (amyotrophic lateral sclerosis) as well as Lou Gehrig\u2019s disease. Toto reunited in 2010 to raise money for Porcaro as well as raise awareness about the disease.<\/p>\n<p>Porcaro joined Toto\u2019s ranks in 1982 following the departure of original bassist David Hungate, touring behind multi-platinum effort <em>Toto IV<\/em>.  During his tenure, Porcaro lent his bass services to albums such as <em>Isolation<\/em> (1984), <em>Fahrenheit<\/em> (1986), <em>Mindfields<\/em> (1998) and <em>Through The Looking Glass<\/em> (2002).<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Former TOTO Bassist Mike Porcaro Dies Aged 59 March 15th, 2015 Mike Porcaro, former bassist for American rock group Toto, died at 12:04am PDT on March 15th, 2015 at the age of 59 following complications from motor neurone disease.
