DIMMU BORGIR Issue Fifth Video Trailer For \u2018Eonian\u2019 Album<\/strong><\/span>

Oslo, Norway-based symphonic black metal group Dimmu Borgir issue tenth full-length studio album Eonian<\/em> on May 4th, 2018 through Nuclear Blast Records.<\/p>\n

A fifth video trailer for the outing has been released and can be viewed below. In the latest clip, vocalist Shagrath and guitarist Silenoz discuss the process involved when creating a track.<\/p>\n

Eonian<\/em> was produced by the band themselves, and engineered by Jens Bogren. Bogren also mixed and mastered the album at his Fascination Street Studios in Sweden.<\/p>\n

Lyrically, Eonian<\/em> follows a philosophical concept, dealing with the illusion of time.<\/p>\n

Silenoz comments: \u201cTime, when not approaching it from the construct we\u2019re used to can\u2019t be defined and thus it is illusory. There\u2019s only an \u2018eternal now,\u2019 which the album title is already hinting at. When we travel between the worlds seen and unseen, the perception of time ceases to exist, it has no function. Our energy is our torch and our compass when we make rifts and pierce through the veil \u2014 when we go beyond.\u201d<\/p>\n

Shagrath adds: \u201cEonian<\/em> represents the illusion of time, everything that is and always has been. For us, it also marks the 25th anniversary of Dimmu Borgir and the album itself is a tribute to our own history and the Norwegian black metal history.\u201d<\/p>\n

Schola Cantorum, a chamber choir in Norway, laid down guest vocals, Gaute Storaas having helped with choral arrangements.<\/p>\n

Inaugural single \u2018Interdimensional Summit\u2019 was released in seven-inch vinyl EP format on February 23rd, 2018.<\/p>\n

Cover artwork duties fell to Polish artist Zbigniew M. Bielak.<\/p>\n
