Portuguese gothic metallers Moonspell issued 11th full-length studio album Extinct<\/em> on March 6th, 2015 in Germany, Austria, Switzerland, other European territories, and Australia through Napalm Records. The label scheduled release in the United Kingdom, Norway, France, Denmark and Italy for the 9th, with Swedish and Spanish release occurring on the 11th. North American issue took place on the 17th.<\/p>\n

The outing was completed at Fascination Street Studio in \u00d6rebro, Sweden with producer Jens Bogren.<\/p>\n

Seth Siro Anton designed the cover artwork for the mediabook edition of Extinct<\/em>, which was a two-disc affair. The album included bonus songs remixed by Pedro Paix\u00e3o, and a full documentary named \u2018Road To Extinction\u2019 which chronicled the making of the album as well as some scientific context about Extinct<\/em>. As well as a mediabook edition, jewelcase, special limited deluxe edition and LP formats were made available.<\/p>\n

In its first week of release, Extinct<\/em> charted on the Billboard Top New Artist Albums chart (#20), the Billboard Top Hard Music Albums chart (#86), and the Billboard Independent Current albums chart (#88).<\/p>\n

Music videos were filmed for the title track and \u2018Domina\u2019. In addition, official lyric videos were created for the songs \u2018Breathe (Until We Are No More)\u2019 and \u2018Medusalem\u2019. All four clips can be viewed below.<\/p>\n

Tenth studio record Alpha Noir<\/em> was released in April 2012.<\/p>\n
