Five tracks and 15 minutes long, this demo could be perceived as death metal, but there’s a raw punkniess too as the young quartet launches into the decomposed churning of ‘Koroze’. The bass of Káca stands out, vibrating through the depths of the macabre riff. The build is gradual and then comes the fetid gallop, led by the clattering percussion and the gasping vocals.

These guys know how to create a dank atmosphere, particularly with my favourite song ‘Astrálni vize’ with its vile, morbid trudging. It’s nasty stuff which is more than happy to slobber in its own waste. The macabre and cold churning is as equally prevalent on ‘Trollmoor’ which, in spite of some flurries, remains embedded in that mulch-coated traipsing.

The ghastliness of such a demo cannot be ignored as the grime and slime is somewhat disturbed by the ravenous haste of ‘Znesvěceni slunce’ and a hideously brief cover rendition of Gride track ‘Možnost volby’. Temora is a band to siphon out of the peat-bog underground, but watch out for the mould!

For those of you interested, the Temora demo is available here.

Neil Arnold

TEMORA Demo (2025) Wow, this thing sounds rough n’ punky n’ primitive and it’s the debut demo from Czechia filth lickers Temora.
