The Valencia-based band started out in 2021 as Rehco but changed their name two years later. The current line-up features Marco San Segundo (vocal and lead guitar), Fabio Valmadre (rhythm guitar), bassist Adri\u00e1n Penad\u00e9s (bass) and Marc Molina Torrent (drums).<\/p>\n<p>For the 17 minute duration of this debut release, BloodStorm serves up a standard thrash premise which blends a belligerent Teutonic-style with something more melodic and groove based, especially on opener \u201810 Days\u2019. The only thing that brings the edge out of this EP is the slightly abrasive vocal display and some of the more melodious streaks. \u2018Rats Of Society\u2019 begins with a robust and catchy riff, and to be fair there\u2019s no shortage here of such burly outbursts alongside a few sprigs of jarring slow passages.<\/p>\n<p>Closer \u2018War Cowards\u2019 is probably the best song here; a nice mid-tempo groove and some good lead work entice you in before the vocals take over. There\u2019s an 80s UK thrash vibe going on, more so due to a somewhat low-key but rawer aesthetic. What I will say about this EP though is that the guys are clearly able to insert variation into their thrash framework. Although I don\u2019t like the groove metal designs of \u2018Disrespectful Absentee\u2019, especially with the teenage deathcore vocals, it is proof a combo willing to test the waters of expansion.<\/p>\n<p><em>Pollution Of Truth<\/em> may not get recognition outside of the Spanish metal underground, but like a lot of stuff it deserves support even if I\u2019m not overly enthusiastic about the content.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Neil Arnold<\/strong><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>BLOODSTORM Pollution Of Truth EP NeathPop (2025) Rating: 5\/10 These Spaniards are relatively new to the game of thrash metal and Pollution Of Truth is their introductory EP.
