Detruncation\u2019s first demo, Putrefied Evulsions<\/em>, is one of the best so far this year. This Romania-based duo of vocalist \/ guitarist Uriel Aguillon (Putred \/ Morbicus \/ Reveler \/ Vorus \/ Necrorite) and bassist Corina Elena (Putred \/ Reveler \/ Vorus) keep everything deathly in the four songs on offer here.<\/p>\n

With the opening title track there\u2019s a fleshy bluster to its structure, hinting towards a mid 90s pattern. The vocals have a frothing texture, choppily ranting over the scurry of the guitar work. This is very much old school in its presence, although the ravenous hammering of \u2018Torment Of Despair\u2019 has a more contemporary style of brutality, more so due to its aggressive structuring. It\u2019s still coated in filth, veering towards the melodious strains of Carcass on \u2018The Ethereal Deep\u2019 which boasts some killer mid-tempo flesh grinding. The fourth and final song is \u2018Thanatophobia\u2019, which has a gnashing quality, rounding off a steady demo that acts a nice teaser to future actions.<\/p>\n
