The line-up of Suicide Pollution consists of vocalist / guitarist Luis Arturo Stefanoni, bassist Abban Davila and drummer Daniel Díaz Lara.

I was turned onto this violent outing due to the striking zombie soldier cover art. The music certainly fits the artwork as the band unleashes hostile thrash that would provide an apt soundtrack to the whir of military helicopters, the spray of bullets and screams of war-torn terror.

The title track opens with a surge of drums and speeding hardcore rage. It sounds like a more maniacal Suicidal Tendencies with a death thrash slant. This is pretty standard stuff with extremely choppy vocal raps that steadily punctuate the flow of ‘Lesson With A Violence’.

It’s relatively raw and underground in its vibe and somewhat unremarkable too as the five tracks flash by without too much effect. Even so, ‘Possessed’ is quite a blast with its grindcore hammering and I do like those primitive vocal heaves. ‘Hell Raiser’ offers a strong melodic backbone even among the rage, and closer ‘Rotten In Hell’ begins with such an infectious chug before going awry again into that tenacious haste. There’s not much else to say except it’s an EP that entertains but is of limited shelf life.

Neil Arnold

SUICIDE POLLUTIONTo The Weapons EP Self-released (2024)Rating: 6/10 To The Weapons is the debut five-song EP from a Mexican trio who formed in 2018 out of Puebla.
