If you missed the two demos \u2013 Infernal Old Force<\/em> (2009) and From Hell<\/em> (2011) \u2013 from this cult Chilean thrash act then I\u2019d advise you pick up this compilation. I\u2019m glad someone has put this out because Sacrilator were such a cool, old school styled act, as many Chilean bands seem to be.<\/p>\n

With Maximum Execution<\/em> you get treated to 14 songs, which includes a cover of Razor\u2019s \u2018Cross Me Fool\u2019 plus a handful of live tracks on top. The songs to concentrate on though are those which made up the demos. So, after a short intro (\u2018Infernal Darkness\u2019) you get \u2018Screams From The Abysm\u2019, \u2018Sacrilator Attack\u2019, \u2018Chainsaw Butcher\u2019, \u2018Thrashing Speed Massacre\u2019 and \u2018Electric Execution\u2019, while the album is topped off with an instrumental entitled \u2018Maximum Execution\u2019 and a rehearsal rendition of \u2018The Evil Covenant\u2019.<\/p>\n

For those not familiar with Sacrilator, the band \u2013 currently on hold \u2013 plays a rabid style of underground thrash that mixes vintage Slayer<\/a>, Whiplash, Dark Angel etc. One could easily imagine finding this sort of release in the import racks back in 1986, so all you can do is lap up the rawness.<\/p>\n

\u2018Sacrilator Attack\u2019 is probably my favourite track; the up-tempo chugging and those snappy vocal slurs from Fabi\u00e1n Olave provide ample destruction to the ears. On \u2018Thrashing Speed Massacre\u2019 the Razor influence comes to fruition but it remains extremely catchy. Meanwhile, \u2018Electric Execution\u2019 is probably the most rabid of the tracks where again there is that demonic mix of old Slayer alongside a Teutonic rawness. Of course, for even further primitive designs you can hear the included live versions too.<\/p>\n

Hopefully, this compilation will prompt Sacrilator to re-emerge from the shadows and spike us with some new material.<\/p>\n
