On this debut EP from Stockholm-based Grimoria you get 15 minutes of heavy, laborious doom not too far removed from a sludgier Candlemass. The vocals of Mik Wizard, who also provides the gluey riffs, has a mournful tone that barks intermittently through the dense walls which are stony as well as stoned.<\/p>\n<p><em>Lost In Shadows<\/em> is not an EP that shifts a great deal from its desired path but the song \u2018Riding In Hell\u2019 provides a welcome flurry. Either side of this we have the arduous booms of the title track and \u2018Judgement Day\u2019, both of which ooze with great effect, the latter being rather stark in its suspenseful openings.<\/p>\n<p>This is all very earthy and shadowy but at times formulaic in its trudging.
