ASINHELL Release Debut Studio Album \u2018Impii Hora\u2019<\/strong><\/span>

European death metal band Asinhell issued debut full-length studio album Impii Hora<\/em> (Latin to English translation: \u2018Ungodly Hour\u2019) on September 29th, 2023 through Metal Blade Records.<\/p>\n

When guitarist Michael Poulsen was putting together songs for Volbeat\u2019s 2021 album Servant Of The Mind<\/em> (Volbeat being Poulsen\u2019s main band, which he fronts), he wrote a bunch of death metal riffs and saved them on his phone. Following the completion of Servant Of The Mind<\/em>, Poulsen started putting songs together for his new group Asinhell. Poulsen had previously recorded four death metal albums in the mid-90s as a part of Dominus.<\/p>\n

Not wishing to front Asinhell, in March 2022, Poulsen contacted old friend and former Morgoth vocalist Marc Grewe (Insidious Disease) and invited him to join. \u201cI had known Michael quite a long time and he always mentioned that we should do a death metal project one day, but I never took him too seriously because he was so busy with Volbeat,\u201d Grewe said. \u201cThen he called for real and said, \u2018Yeah, I want to do it now. Are you up for it?’ Immediately, I was \u2018Yes, of course!\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n

Subsequently, after considering drummer friends from established bands, Poulsen asked Morten Toft Hansen from Danish group Raunchy to join the fold \u2013 the pair live ten minutes away from one another. Grewe was tied up at home in Germany when it came time to write the vocals, so Poulsen sent the singer phone recordings from rehearsals to start the process.<\/p>\n

Impii Hora<\/em> was made available in the following coloured vinyl formats; 180g black (Europe exclusive), crimson red marbled (Europe exclusive), white vinyl (Europe exclusive, limited to 1000), gold with black dust (EMP exclusive, limited to 300 copies), clear with and red and white splatter (Europe Band store exclusive, limited to 500 copies), silver (US exclusive, silver with red splatter (US exclusive), black and white melt (US exclusive), and red and black splatter (US Band store exclusive, limited to 500 copies).<\/p>\n

Music videos were released for the tracks \u2018Fall Of The Loyal Warrior\u2019, \u2018Wolfpack Laws\u2019, \u2018Pyromantic Scryer\u2019 and \u2018Impii Hora\u2019. In addition, official lyric videos were created for the songs \u2018Fall Of The Loyal Warrior\u2019, \u2018Island Of Dead Men\u2019 and \u2018Desert Of Doom\u2019. All seven clips can be viewed below.<\/p>\n
