EVILE Release Official Lyric Video For \u2018Monolith\u2019 Track<\/strong><\/span>

Huddersfield, England-based thrash metal band Evile have released an official lyric video for the track \u2018Monolith\u2019, which can be viewed below.<\/p>\n

Speaking about the song, frontman Ol Drake said: \u201cThis song started after Adam (Smith, rhythm guitar) sent over the main riff and we got to work on building on it. Our aim was for something menacing and dark, and this might be a contender for my favourite track on the album. The song itself is based on a recurring nightmare I used to have when I was young. I had it for months on end and it always featured this monolith presence with eyes at its base. I would be terrified to go to sleep in case I have it again. Enjoy the chug!\u201d<\/p>\n

Evile issued sixth full-length studio album The Unknown<\/em><\/a> on July 14th, 2023 through Napalm Records.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe\u2019re really excited to start revealing the next page in the Evile chapter,\u201d commented frontman Ol Drake. \u201cWe\u2019ve taken a completely different approach on this album and I looked inward for inspiration; I\u2019ve opened myself up like I never thought I would. We\u2019ve always been at 500mph, like on the previous album (Hell Unleashed<\/em>) and this time around we felt we wanted to try the polar opposite \u2013 some slower-than-we\u2019ve-ever-done tempos with more melodic vocal hooks, and give Adam some freedom on the leads \/ writing. I\u2019ve been working on my vocals since diving in the deep end in 2021, and we\u2019ve worked hard for two years on this, so I\u2019m excited for everyone to hear the fruits of our labour. We\u2019re really proud of what we\u2019ve all accomplished with this album. This is the one I hope can catapult us to more ears and places we haven\u2019t been before to play for people who are constantly asking us to play in their area.\u201d<\/p>\n

The Unknown<\/em> was recorded by Tim Vincent at Longwave Studios in Cardiff, Wales and was produced, mixed and mastered by Chris Clancy at the same Longwave Studios.<\/p>\n

Fifth studio record Hell Unleashed<\/em><\/a> was released<\/a> in July 2021 via Napalm Records.<\/p>\n
