WITHIN TEMPTATION Release Seventh Studio Album ‘Resist’
February 1st, 2019

Dutch symphonic rock group Within Temptation issued seventh full-length studio album Resist on February 1st, 2019 through Spinefarm Records. The outing had originally been scheduled for release on December 14th, 2018, but was postponed due to “production problems” experienced by the record label.

Speaking about the album, lead vocalist Sharon den Adel stated: “If it wasn’t for Resist, Within Temptation wouldn’t be here anymore. With this record, we’ve taken inspiration from modern music and given it a face – a very dark one. Sometimes it feels that today’s pop music lacks a rebellious edge. Our main goal was to collect pieces from sounds we did like then roughen the whole thing up as much as we could, allowing us to shape a new musical world that is heavier, dirtier and more futuristic than we’ve ever created before. Resist is our new take on metal; our way of giving a fresh lease of life to the rebellious edge of modern music.”

Resist features guest vocals from Papa Roach’s Jacoby Shaddix (‘The Reckoning’), In Flames’ Anders Fridén (‘Raise Your Banner’) and Arid’s Jasper Steverlinck (‘Firelight’).

The track listing is as follows;

01. ‘The Reckoning’ (feat. Jacoby Shaddix)
02. ‘Endless War’
03. ‘Raise Your Banner’ (feat. Anders Fridén)
04. ‘Supernova’
05. ‘Holy Ground’
06. ‘In Vain’
07. ‘Firelight’ (feat. Jasper Steverlinck)
08. ‘Mad World’
