WE SELL THE DEAD Release Second Studio Album ‘Black Sleep’
February 21st, 2020

Swedish metal group We Sell The Dead issued second full-length studio album Black Sleep on February 21st, 2020 through earMUSIC.

“The term ‘black sleep’ is, of course, a metaphor for death,” the band explained. “‘Eternal sleep’ is a somewhat more frequently used term, but we wanted an expression that sounded both sinister and soft at the same time. Because it is a quite beautiful thing – this short life of ours. Blink and it’s over. And, most importantly, death is not the enemy. Indifference and life without meaning are. We are all going to die, eventually, all of us, sometime sooner or later. Life isn’t about sitting and waiting for that to happen. Life is about taking what you’ve got and squeezing the most out of it.”

The outing marks the recording debut of drummer Oscar Nilsson, also of Engel, replacing departed erstwhile HIM sticksman Mika “Gas Lipstick” Karpinnen.

Black Sleep was co-produced by Niclas Engelin and Oscar Nilsson at Crehate Studios in Mölndal, Sweden, with Nilsson also responsible for mixing duties. Mastering was handled by Thomas “Plec” Johansson at The Panic Room in Skövde, Sweden.

The track listing is as follows:

01. ‘Caravan’
02. ‘Across The Water’
03. ‘Black Sleep’
04. ‘Carved In Stone’
05. ‘The Light’
06. ‘Hour Of The Wolf’
07. ‘River In Your Blood’
08. ‘Nightmare And Dream’
09. ‘Scars In My Heart’
10. ‘Shallow Grave’
