SOULFLY Release Tenth Studio Album ‘Archangel’
August 14th, 2015

Phoenix, Arizona-based metal group Soulfly issued tenth full-length studio album Archangel on August 14th, 2015 through Nuclear Blast Entertainment.

The outing was produced by Matt Hyde, and includes guest appearances from Todd Jones of Nails (‘Sodomites’) and Matt Young of King Parrot (‘Live Life Hard!’). Swansong track ‘Mother Of Dragons’ features Richie and Igor Cavalera (of Incite and Lody Kong, respectively), sons of vocalist Max Cavalera. In addition, the pair’s brother Zyon stepped behind the drumkit for the entire effort.

Cover artwork duties fell to Eliran Kantor, Max Cavalera commissioning Kantor to design a traditional piece depicting Archangel Michael.

Soulfly’s recording line-up was as follows;

In its first week of release, Archangel charted in the following countries; Austria (#31), Australia (#41), Belgium (#29), Canada (#60), Czech Republic (#17), Germany (#19), Finland (#22), France (#40), Netherlands (#33), Spain (#19), Switzerland (#11), UK (#57), and USA (#130).

A music video, directed by Robert Sexton, was filmed for the title track. In addition, official lyric videos were created for the songs ‘We Sold Our Souls To Metal’, ‘Sodomites’ and ‘Titans’. All four clips can be viewed below.

Ninth studio record Savages was released in September 2013.
