OBITUARY Release Debut Full-Length Album ‘Slowly We Rot’
June 1989

Tampa, Florida-based death metal group Obituary issued debut full-length album Slowly We Rot in June 1989 through Roadracer Records. The outing was cut between 1988-1989 at Morrisound Recording in Tampa, Florida, with Scott Burns handling production and engineering duties. Burns mixed Slowly We Rot alongside brothers John Tardy (vocals) and Donald Tardy (drums), with Mike Fuller mastering the effort. Rob Mayworth designed the front cover artwork, with album photography being overseen by Tim Hubbard.

Slowly We Rot was the only album to feature Daniel Tucker on bass, with Frank Watkins occupying the position for Obituary’s next seven records (1990-2009).
