METAL CHURCH Rejoined By Vocalist Mike Howe
April 30th, 2015

Aberdeen, Washington-based metal group Metal Church recruited vocalist Mike Howe, revealing this development on April 30th, 2015. Howe had previously fronted Metal Church from 1988 until 1994.

On September 24th, 2014, it was announced that Ronny Munroe had parted ways with Metal Church following a ten-year tenure.

At the time, guitarist Kurdt Vanderhoof had been in talks with Howe regarding a project he was pursuing with Saxon drummer Nigel Glockler, and so he opted to ask Howe to return to Metal Church. Metal Church are in the process of working on their 11th full-length studio album, slated for issue later in 2015 through Rat Pak Records.

Howe issued the following statement: “I didn’t want to come back to Metal Church just for nostalgia. It had to be for the right reasons. It had to be the best stuff we’ve ever written together or it just wouldn’t be worth it to anyone, especially the fans.”

Vanderhoof, meanwhile, reckons Metal Church’s forthcoming material sounds like “classic Mike Howe-era Metal Church. It’s both heavy and melodic. Mike sounds the same as he did 20 years ago. This is going to be truly epic!!”

Drummer Jeff Plate shared the following words: “Mike Howe is the ONLY singer for Metal Church. He has a reputation of complete honor and respect. We can now take Metal Church to the next level!”

During a six-year tenure, Howe lent vocals to the following brace of full-lengths; The Human Factor (1989), Blessing In Disguise (1991), and Hanging In The Balance (1994).

Metal Church 2015 is;

Mike Howe (vocals)
Kurdt Vanderhoof (guitar)
Jeff Plate (drums)
Steve Unger (bass)
Rick VanZandt (guitar)

Tenth studio record Generation Nothing was released in October 2013.
