The book will be made available in hardback, ebook and audio formats through HarperNonFiction and Dey Street. A paperback edition is scheduled for publication in 2018.

What Does This Button Do? covers the frontman’s 30-plus years with Iron Maiden, the early days, his childhood, going solo, flying jumbo jets, his battle with tongue cancer, and various other topics. The memoir was written longhand, filling seven A4 notebooks, which Dickinson worked while on the road during Iron Maiden’s The Book Of Souls World Tour.

Publishing director Jack Fogg negotiated world rights with Adrian Sington at Kruger Cowne, Dave Daniel at Celebrity Speakers and Maiden’s management, Phantom Music Management, and will publish in conjunction with Denise Oswald, senior editor at Dey Street in HarperCollins US.

The first print run of the UK hardback edition will have black sprayed-edges, and be available to pre-order ahead of publication.

The global publication in October will be accompanied with a commensurate international book tour.
