ASSASSIN Release Fifth Studio Album ‘Combat Cathedral’
May 20th, 2016

Düsseldorf, Germany-based thrash metal band Assassin issued fifth full-length studio album Combat Cathedral on May 20th, 2016 through SPV / Steamhammer.

The outing was made available on CD, limited-edition LP (500 copies only on red 180g vinyl with CD) and as a digital download.

Combat Cathedral is the first Assassin album to feature vocalist Ingo “Crowzak” Bajonczak, who replaced founding member Robert Gonnella in May 2014.

Guitarist Jürgen “Scholli” Scholz issued the following statement: “Like back in the 80s, the new album stands for thrash metal at its finest, but, after the last album Breaking The Silence, much more mature, developed and with a very fat production. Songs with 220-240 bpm are not rare, same with groovy mosh parts, which are partially nested into each other and a lot of sticking refrains, which will animate you to shout them along immediately together with our new singer Crowzak. The opener sums it up perfectly: Assassin are ‘back from the dead’!”

Combat Cathedral was recorded and mixed by Marc Görtz at Nemesis Studios in Essen, while mastering was handled by Olman Viper at Netzwerk Nullzweistudios in Hamburg.

Cover artwork duties fell to Marcelo Vasco.

The track listing is as follows:

01. ‘Back From The Dead’
02. ‘Frozen Before Impact’
03. ‘Undying Mortality’
04. ‘Servant Of Fear’
05. ‘Slave Of Time’ (digipak bonus track)
06. ‘Whoremonger’
07. ‘Cross The Line’ (digipak bonus track)
08. ‘What Doesn’t Kill Me Makes Me Stronger’
09. ‘Ambush’
10. ‘Word’
11. ‘Sanity From The Insane’
12. ‘Red Alert’

Assassin’s recording line-up was as follows:

Ingo “Crowzak” Bajonczak (vocals)
Michael “Micha” Hoffmann (guitar)
Jürgen “Scholli” Scholz (guitar)
Joachim Kremer (bass)
Björn “Burn” Sondermann (drums)

Fourth studio record Breaking The Silence was released in February 2011.
